(Sports Network) - Not quiet two weeks ago, the Boston Red Sox swept the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway.
Authentic Ed Reed Jersey . Ricky Romero will make his second start since coming off the disabled list this afternoon when the Toronto Blue Jays attempt to return the favour with a three-game sweep over the Boston Red Sox at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Romero was impressive in three April starts before hitting the DL on April 24th. After a month on the shelf the southpaw returned against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Unfortunately Romero was not very effective against Baltimore, allowing five runs on 11 hits in just 5 1/3 innings of work. Taking the hill for Boston will be Jon Lester, who is looking to turn his fortunes around. The southpaw is 3-5 on the year and has dropped three of his last four matchups. The last time Lester toed the rubber he was no match for the bats of Minnesota, as the Twins tattooed the 25-year-old for five runs on six hits in six innings of duty. One of Lesters better outings this season came against Toronto, as the hard- throwing lefty tossed 6 1/3 innings, surrendering just one run, while striking out four batters. In six career starts against the Jays, Lester has an even 2-2 mark with a 3.52 earned run average. On Saturday, Alex Rios went 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored as the Blue Jays rallied to take a 5-3 win. Adam Lind had two hits, including a solo home run, and two RBI while Marco Scutaro had three hits and scored once for the Blue Jays, who have won two straight on the heels of a nine-game losing streak. Brian Tallet (3-3) got the win as he gave up just three runs on three hits with four walks and six strikeouts over seven innings of work. Rocco Baldelli hit a two-run home run, but left the game in the fifth inning with a left knee injury after sliding into the wall while trying to field a foul ball. X-rays showed no damage to Baldellis knee. Mike Lowell drove in a run and had two of the four hits for the Red Sox, who have dropped four of their last five. Brad Penny started on the mound and gave up three runs -- two earned -- on 10 hits with five strikeouts in six innings of work. Ramon Ramirez (4-2) was saddled with the loss. With the win the Blue Jays are now tied with the Red Sox for second place in the American League East, 1 1/2 games back of the New York Yankees.

But even Alexandre Bilodeau admits no one predicted it would happen so soon. Bilodeau, from Rosemere, Que., won gold Friday to lead another Canadian sweep at a freestyle World Cup, while Jennifer Heil of Spruce Grove, Alta., added silver in the womens event. "When we did the first sweep in the history of Canada (in Ste-Adele, Que.), I was like, `Its the first time but its not the last," Bilodeau said in a phone interview following his win. "Were a really strong team, the mens team, and I knew we had the potential to make it again and it happened again for the second (time) this year." Bilodeau scored 26.11 points while Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau of Drummondville, Que., took the silver (25.96) and Vincent Marquis of Quebec City won the bronze (25.44). The skiers had been talking about the potential for a podium sweep for several years, and finally achieved it Jan. 24 at Mont Gabriel. The order that day was Marquis, Bilodeau, and Rousseau. "This is amazing," said Rousseau. "Like I said the first time we did this (medal sweep), theres more of this to come." Added Marquis. "Its an amazing feeling to be able to do this twice. Maybe it felt a little like mission impossible, but weve done it again, and its probably as exciting as the first time." It was the second straight victory for the 21-year-old Bilodeau, who also tops the World Cup standings. He sped to gold last weekend at Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver, B.C., the freestyle venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics. He has three gold and two silvers this season. "Its two in a row, its pretty amazing and mostly with my two colleagues that are on the podium with me, its pretty amazing," Bilodeau said. "Weve done it again." The closest Canada had come to a sweep prior to this season was seecond-third-fourth.

I knew that it was possible now." Maxime Gingras of St. Hippolyte, Que., was 14th while World Cup rookie Cedric Rochon of St. Sauveur, Que., was 29th. Heil, meanwhile, finished second in the womens moguls with 24.74 points. The silver moved her closer to overall moguls leader Hannah Kearney of the U.S., who was fourth. "Its a pretty amazing feat by the boys and its pretty motivating as a teammate," said Heil. "Im very happy with my own consistency, but Im definitely not where I want to be." Margarita Marbler of Austria won the gold (24.89) and Aiko Uemura of Japan won bronze (24.66).
