Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Forward Chris Webber, who started his NBA career with Golden State, is returning to the Warriors. Patrick Willis Youth Jersey . Golden State executive vice president of basketball operations Chris Mullin announced the signing on Tuesday. Terms or length of the deal were not disclosed, but the San Francisco Chronicle reports Webber will receive the prorated veterans minimum of $1.2 million, which amounts to a little less than $600,000 for the rest of the season. Webber split time last season in Philadelphia and Detroit. Between the 76ers and Pistons, the 34-year-old Webber appeared in 61 games, averaging 11.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists. "Were glad that Chris has elected to sign with our club and feel fortunate to add a player with his ability," Mullin said. "We think he will be a nice addition to our team and provide additional depth to our frontcourt and an added veteran presence on the floor." Webber started his NBA career with Golden State in 1993-94. The Michigan product was drafted first overall in the 1993 draft by the Orlando Magic, but was dealt to the Warriors. That year he averaged 17.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, and was named Rookie of the Year. However, before the next season, Webber didnt report to training camp because of a personality conflict with Warriors coach Don Nelson, and asked for a trade. He was dealt to Washington on November 17, 1994, for forward Tom Gugliotta and three first-round draft picks. Nelson is again at the helm of the Warriors. "It is with great pride and humility that I announce my return to the Golden State Warriors, the place where it all started," Webber said. "This organization and city has always had a special place in my heart because it is where my dream of being an NBA player first came true. In playing for (Nelson) before, I know how much fun his style of ball can be. I believe great things are in store and I cant wait to get on the court." Webber spent his next four seasons in Washington before moving on to Sacramento for the next six-plus seasons. The five-time All-Star played with Philadelphia for parts of the following three seasons, leading up to the 2006-07 campaign.
