Bucharest, Romania (Sports Network) - Spains Albert Montanes beat Juan Monaco of Argentina in a pair of tiebreakers Sunday to win the title at the Romania Open.

"Im very happy with how the whole week has gone and Im very happy as well to win the title here," said Montanes. "I was a bit lucky when I saved all those set points with 15-40 twice on my serve. That was a very important moment Im happy and lucky that I saved them." The 53rd-ranked Montanes earned his second title of 2009. He beat James Blake for the Estoril Open crown in May. Monaco, ranked 37th in the world, leads the ATP Tour with 29 clay-court wins this year, but has yet to capture a title in 2009. He is 3-5 all-time in ATP finals, with all three of his wins coming in 2007. "Im a little bit disappointed but sport is like this," said Monaco. "Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I have to keep working very hard to get better moments. That moment in the match when I almost won the second set, I need more focus and more rhythm on those points. I think I need to be more focused if I want to improve my tennis and win tournaments like this." Sunday marked Monacos third final of 2009. He lost to Spains Tommy Robredo in Buenos Aires back in February and fell to Swedens Robin Soderling at the Swedish Open in July.
